Research Scientist
Gloria joined Resources for Learning (RFL) part time in June 2024. She switched to full-time in September 2024. Her responsibilities include assisting diverse research projects, developing comprehensive evaluation frameworks, and conducting in-depth data analyses. Gloria's expertise encompasses program evaluation, mixed-methods research, and large-scale data analysis. Gloria is proficient in SPSS, R, Mplus, Stata, and Dedoose, with strong data visualization and problem-solving skills.
Prior to joining RFL, she gained experience as a Summer Research Intern at Gibson Consulting Group which included survey administration for the State of Texas Performance Plan Indicator 14 and qualitative analysis from charter school interviews for the Texas Education Agency. She was also a Data/Research Policy Intern at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board where she assisted in the closeout of large federally funded learning grants that aimed to increase workforce participation. Starting in 2019, she served a year-long service at the Virginia Department of Social Services where she conducted a randomized control trial to increase Earned Income Tax Credit program participation. She also designed and distributed informational media to improve interdepartmental learning and collaboration.
Gloria holds a doctoral degree and master’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Virginia.
