Career and Technical Education Specialist
Stephanie has more than 30 years in public school administration and teaching with a focus on researching, monitoring, and analyzing local, regional, and state data to support informed decision-making and developing community partnerships that are focused on preparing students for postsecondary success. She joined Resources for Learning (RFL) in August 2023 where she is using her expertise to support CTE-related projects.
Prior to joining RFL, Stephanie served in multiple positions including: Director of K-12 Career Readiness, Director of Career and Technical Education, Director of Communications, and secondary teacher. Stephanie’s specialty centers around aligning resources and developing programs of study in fast-growth districts that partner K-12 school districts with Institutions of Higher Learning and workforce partners. She has developed training modules to support industry practitioners who enter the teaching profession at the secondary level.
Stephanie earned a doctoral degree from Baylor University where she studied the theory of adult learning through an andragogical framework. Her dissertation sought to delineate how health science practitioners construct meaning and knowledge as they enter the teaching profession and become effective CTE educators. Additionally, she earned a master’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in Journalism and a minor in Radio-Television-Film. Stephanie also holds current State of Texas Superintendent (EC-12), Principal (EC-12) and Secondary Teacher certifications.
