Alison joined Resources for Learning (RFL) 2021 and in that time has developed a direct services model for providing technical assistance (TA). She currently provides TA in 11 districts, charter schools, and nonprofit organizations. Her responsibilities include project management, strategic planning, data collection design,and evaluation specifically for out-of-school time programs. Alison leads RFL’s support of the Texas COVID Learning Acceleration and Support and Strong Foundations planning grants through the Texas Education Agency. With a background in afterschool education, project-based learning, grant management, and nonprofit development, Alison supports both districts and the Texas ACE program as a part of RFL’s team.
Prior to RFL, Alison worked with small and large nonprofits in Austin, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Grenada, focusing on youth development and building capacity in community based organizations. In her time at the Texas Education Agency, she worked to support the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and Communities In Schools programs. She began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa.
Alison earned a bachelor’s degree from Denison University and a master’s degree in international development from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in African Studies from Ohio University.
