In 2012, Caryn joined Resources for Learning where her primary responsibilities include leading curriculum and professional learning initiatives. Caryn’s specialties are project management, literacy, educational leadership, curriculum development, research-based instructional strategies, and working with diverse student populations, including special needs students and emergent bilingual learners.
Prior to joining RFL, Caryn worked for 16 years in public education. As a former teacher, district literacy coach, supervisor of middle school literacy, federal grant manager, and assistant principal in an urban school district in New Jersey, Caryn successfully launched, directed, and managed large-scale curriculum, professional learning, and research projects. In her leadership positions, Caryn established comprehensive training programs and regularly presented program data and results to instructional staff, administrators, community stakeholders, the U.S. Department of Education, university curriculum partners, and various research organizations. Caryn also has extensive experience with data analyses related to student performance, curriculum and program implementation, teacher quality, teacher mobility, and professional development.
Caryn holds a Master of Science in educational leadership from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, with a minor in psychology, from St. Joseph’s University.
