Kyle joined RFL in December 2023. His work at RFL to date has centered on developing classroom observation tools and survey instruments, designing quantitative analyses to examine the effects of implementing specialized curricula, and scheduling large-scale classroom observations across multiple sites. Kyle has a wealth of experience and training in quantitative methods and educational research, with particular emphasis on large-scale data analysis, causal inference, and psychometrics.
Prior to joining RFL, Kyle previously worked in the University of Texas System's Office of Institutional Research and Analysis as an advanced analytics researcher. His work there mostly centered on student outcomes, unemployment effects of the COVID-19 pandemic among UTS alumni, and the concordance between Texas labor market projections and UTS degree projections in key industries. At UT Austin, he worked with the UT Education Research Center to conduct an analysis of the effectiveness of a network of all-girls charter schools operating across the state. He also spent 5 years working in Research and Development for Psychological Assessment Resources, Inc, assisting with the development of a variety of instruments from intelligence tests and vocabulary assessments to diagnostic reading batteries and social-emotional resource inventories.
Kyle holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Measurement and Evaluation from the University of South Florida, and a master's degree in Educational Psychology with a focus in Quantitative Methods from the University of Texas at Austin.
